EPIKOUROS.
The space is uncluttered, simply presented with a neutral colour palette, so that nothing detracts from the view of alpine slopes from the large, open veranda. Even in the colder months, a clear canopy protects the seating area and allows dinners to look out year-round. Start with horta , freshly boiled greens drizzled with local olive oil and lemon, or the Greek salad with generous chunks of feta. The house speciality is a must: the wild boar stifado is cooked with plenty of baby onions and fresh tomato sauce , fragrantly seasoned with bay leaves and cinnamon. Address: 33, Vas. We strongly recommend the Epikouros Restaurant, also on
Delphi's main street, at 33 Pavlou and Frederikis. The Epikouros
(owned and managed by the same helpful Kourelis family) has an
astonishingly wide and varied menu -- including tasty vegetable
fritters, delicious local formaella cheese, lamb with fresh tomato
sauce and, in season, wild boar. The Epikouros also easily has
the best view from a restaurant; Entrees from 9€ to 15€ ($12 to
$19). |

Epikouros (Year 2009). Nothing in the uncluttered restaurant design detracts from the view of alpine slopes from the large, open veranda. Even in the colder months, a glass canopy protects the seating area and allows diners to look out year-round. Start with rooster soup. The house specialty is a must :the wild boar stifado is cooked with plenty of baby onions and fresh tomato sauce, fragrantly seasoned with bay leaves and cinnamon. Chicken in tomato sauce with eggplant and feta is an interesting alternative for timid pelates. |

Fedriades Year 2009. This Hotel in the center of Delphi was purchased by the family that runs Epikouros and Acropole. Their renovation work (to be completed in late 2008) has created a simple, functional look accented by warm colors and a touch of Greek mountain style, while avoiding the " ancient Kitsch" of other nearby hotels. The basic amenities and cleanliness offered for a reasonable price make it a good choice. The owners offer a 10 % discount for Fodors. |
